Description: The VIP-882-V-TS "TouchMux"™ Touch Technology Video Splitter / Multiplexer allows two Touch Screen Monitor workstations to share access to one PC. It is compact in design, easy to install and operate, and is available in two standard configurations. At the heart of the VIP-882-V-TS is Vetra's advanced video and touch technology emulation, which provides video resolutions of up to 1600 by 1200 at 75Hz and simple one touch workstation selection for ease of operation. Either one or both of the Touch Screen Workstations may be extended to a distance of up to 100 feet from the unit. The unique video architecture of the VIP-882-V-TS Touch Screen Video Splitter allows it to be easily configured to operate with PCs having dual-head video outputs, on a special order basis. It is compatible with all popular touch screen monitors including those from 3M and ELO and operates transparently with all PCs, PC operating systems and applications. Operation: On both models, only one workstation may access the PC at any given time. This prevents unwanted input from the other workstation. On the non-keyswitch model, the active workstation is selected by simply touching the touch screen monitor. In workstation selection mode, the VIP-882-V-TS utilizes a 5 second time out feature that monitors both touch screen monitor workstations for touch data input. The first workstation to generate touch screen data, "seizes" the PC and becomes the "active station". It remains "active" until no further touch data is detected for a period of 5 seconds, at which time it relinquishes control of the PC and the whole process starts again. The keyswitch model utilizes a 2 position front panel keyswitch to select the active workstation. The keyswitch can be removed in either position for security purposes. The video content of the connected touch screen monitors is not switched, regardless of which workstation is active, and is present on both monitors at all times. The VIP-882-TS is powered by from an external power supply (VIP-210 see Accessories) which is supplied with the unit. For applications requiring rack mounting, an optional 2U height rack mount tray is available (see Accessories ). The -KS model utilizes a 2 position front panel keyswitch to select the active workstation. The keyswitch can be removed in either position for security purposes.

Connections: PC to TouchMux - A standard HDD15 Male-female video cable is used to connect to the video port of the PC. A standard DB9 Male-female cable is used to connect to the serial port (for touch screen data) of the PC. These cables are 6 feet in length and are provided with the unit. Touch Screen Monitor to TouchMux - The captive cables that are part of, or provided with, the touch screen monitor are used to connect these devices to the TouchMux. Extension cables are also available for distances up to 100 feet (see Accessories ). Powering the TouchMux - The TouchMux is powered with an external power supply (Vetra model VIP-210 see Accessories ) provided with the unit. Specifications: Dimensions for both models of the VIP-882-V-TS Touch Technology Video Splitter / Multiplexer are 3.38 in H x 6.06 in W x 6.32 in D (8.59 cm x 15.39 cm x 16.05 cm). The housings are molded of black GE Cycolac-T, a high impact ABS material, and are internally shielded with an acrylic nickel coating for RFI attenuation. Front and rear panels are fabricated from .062 in thick aluminium and finished with low gloss paint. FCC and CE marked. Shipping weight for both models of the VIP-882-V-TS is 3 lbs.
