Description: The VIP-602-TS "MegaTouch"" Touch Screen KVM Switch allows one PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse and serial touch screen video monitor to control two USB or PS/2 PCs. It is the ideal solution for touch technology applications requiring access to two USB or PS/2 computers, without the clutter and expense of additional keyboards, mice and touch screen monitors. The VIP-602-TS supports all popular keyboards and mice, as well as serial touch screen monitors from 3M and ELO in video resolutions up to 1600 by 1200 at 75Hz. The unique architecture of the MegaTouch provides dedicated microprocessor controlled circuitry for each PC. This feature makes it possible to "hot-plug" keyboards and mice, at any time, and power the connected PCs up and down, in any order. At the heart of the MegaTouch is Vetra's advanced keyboard and mouse emulation technology which provides error free boot up and mouse driver loading for each connected PC, and allows the MegaTouch to operate transparently with all USB or PS/2 compatible PCs, including MAC's, PC operating systems, and applications. The VIP-602-TS Touch Screen KVM Switch comes in a variety of standard configurations, is compact in design, easy to install and operate, and is ideally suited for desktop use, however, for applications requiring rack mounting, an optional 2U height rack mount tray is available (see Accessories ). For more information on this product or our complete line of KVM solutions, please contact us at sales@vetra.com OPERATION: All VIP-602-TS "MegaTouch" Touch Screen KVM Switch models can select the active PC via a keyboard "hot-key" sequence ( [scroll lock] + [1] for PC1, or [scroll lock] + [2] for PC2 ) or by a push button(s) located on the front panel of the Touch Screen KVM Switch. Direct Entry models (as indicated by -DE in the model number) have an individual push button switch for each PC channel. Non-DE models have a single push button (NEXT PC) which toggles between the two connected PCs. In all cases and on all models, when a PC channel is selected, an LED on the front panel illuminates to indicate the selected PC while additional front panel LED's indicate which PCs are powered. Upon selection, the intelligence in the MegaTouch correctly sets the keyboard's status indicators, CAPS, SCROLL, and NUM Lock, as these settings may be different for each PC. The keyboard and/or mouse may be disconnected and re-connected (hot-plugged), or exchanged at any time without having to power down the connected PC's. This feature is useful if a connected device fails during a critical application.

Connections: KVM Switch to PC ports: Standard 6 pin mini DIN male-male cables, or standard USB A-B type cables are used to connect the MegaTouch to the keyboard and mouse ports of the PCs. Standard HDD15 Male-female video cables are used to connect to the video ports of the PC's. Standard DB9 Male-female cables are used to connect to the serial ports (for touch screen data) of the PCs, and standard 3.5mm male-male audio cables (stereo tip ring sleeve type for speakers, mono tip sleeve type for microphone) are used to connect to the audio speaker and mic ports of the PCs. Using standard cables eliminates the need to replace an entire multi-port cable if one connection is damaged or fails, thereby reducing the overall cost of maintainence. Devices to KVM Switch: The captive cables that are part of the PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse, speakers, microphone, and touch screen monitors, are used to connect these devices to the 2 port USB - PS/2 Touch Screen KVM Switch. Short extension cables may be used to extend the distance between the connected devices and the 2 port USB - PS/2 Touch Screen KVM Switch. You may use your cables, or ours (see Accessories ). Powering the KVM Switch: All models of the VIP-602 Dual-Head USB - PS/2 KVM Switch are powered by an external power supply VIP-210 (see Accessories ), which is supplied with the unit. In the event that you wish to power the switch from your own supply, please note that your supply should provide regulated +5VDC @ 1A minimum via a PL06 type plug with the center pin +V, and outer barrel ground. Specifications: Dimensions for the VIP-602-KMV-TS and VIP-602-KMV-TS-DE Touch Screen KVM Switch are 3.38 in H x 6.06 in W x 6.32 in D (8.59 cm x 15.39 cm x 16.05 cm). Dimensions for the VIP-802-KMAV-TS and VIP-802-KMAV-TS-DE Touch Screen KVM Switch w/ audio are 4.04 in H x 6.06 in W x 6.32 in D (10.26 cm x 15.39 cm x 16.05 cm). The housings are molded of black GE Cycolac-T, a high impact ABS material, and is internally shielded with an acrylic base nickel coating for RFI attenuation.
